Does the generator work without an alarm?
Yes. Smoke-Defender is completely autonomous. A simple electrical outlet is sufficient. It can be triggered with the provided remote control or via the SmartLife application.
Is the fog dangerous?
No. The fog is non-toxic, non-irritating, biodegradable, and complies with CE, ISO 9001, ISO 14004, and RoHS standards.
How long does it take to fill a room?
Approximately 8 seconds for 100 to 150 m³. Visibility becomes almost zero, preventing any theft attempts.
Does the generator work without WiFi?
Manual triggering (remote control, push button) works without WiFi. SmartLife automations require a WiFi connection.
Can the fog be triggered from a smartphone?
Yes. The SmartLife application allows you to instantly trigger the generator from your phone.
What is the SmartLife application used for?
The application allows you to manage Smoke-Defender: device addition, remote triggering, creation of automatic scenes, and linking with other SmartLife/Tuya devices.
What is the difference between Tuya and SmartLife?
Tuya is the technology; SmartLife is the recommended application to control it.
How does the provided motion detector work?
It is Tuya/SmartLife compatible. When motion is detected, it can automatically trigger the fog via a SmartLife scene.
How to avoid false alarms?
Add a delay (e.g., 20 seconds) before triggering. Use two detectors (“detector 1 + detector 2 → fog”). Deactivate the SmartLife scene via the red/green button.
What if I forget to deactivate the scene when I return?
With a 20-second delay, you receive a notification from the detector and have time to interrupt the scenario.
Can a door contact sensor be used?
Yes. All Tuya-compatible sensors can serve as triggers: contact sensors, fire detectors, gas detectors, etc.
Is the generator compatible with an Ajax alarm?
Yes. Thanks to the NO/NC relay input, it can be triggered via an Ajax alarm or other systems.
Can multiple anti-burglary generators be used?
Yes, to cover multiple rooms or large areas.
How to install the fog generator?
Simply mount it on the wall at approximately 2 meters high, plug it in, and add it to SmartLife. Installation takes 10 to 15 minutes.
How long does the fog stay in the room?
The fog stays suspended for 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the room’s ventilation. In an enclosed space (shutters closed, doors shut), it easily lasts 30 minutes. With a window open or ventilation running, it dissipates faster. Either way, it’s more than enough for the burglar to give up and flee. To speed up dissipation after the event, simply open the windows and ventilate.
Where should the generator be positioned in the room?
The fog naturally tends to rise. It’s therefore best to mount the generator high up (between 2.5 and 3 metres) pointing the nozzle towards the centre and bottom of the room. This allows the fog to quickly fill the entire living space, right where the burglar is.
Need flexibility? You can also place the device on a box or raised platform to make it mobile. Handy for protecting a stand, a temporary space, or changing rooms as needed.
How many deployments per cartridge?
One cartridge = one full deployment covering 100 to 150 m³.
How to replace the cartridge?
Unscrew the casing, remove the cartridge, and insert a new one. Simple and quick.
Does the fog trigger fire detectors?
No, the cold fog does not trigger standard fire detectors.
Is it legal for commercial use?
Yes. The anti-burglary fog generator is completely legal and complies with European standards.
What is the price of a cartridge?
Cartridges are available on Smoke-Defender at an affordable price, significantly lower than a remote monitoring subscription.
Can it be triggered in case of an assault?
